The Industry Challenges
There are more than 11,300 Condominium Corporations in Ontario today with more than 890,000 condo units. On average a licensed portfolio manager would manage 13 Condominium Corporations (or an average of 1,023 units). The same manager would have to deal with the owner's request, auditors, Board & Owners meetings, accounting, negotiating and drafting contracts, conducting a site inspection, and acting as the liaison between the corporation and the legal & engineering companies. The same manager would have to attend training and educational programs to get up to date with the latest development in the industry. Unfortunately, this workload would prevent the manager from being effective and providing real value for the properties that she/he manages.
Out Solutions
As a Canadian-owned Corporation, we do not send profits overseas. This allows us to remove unproductive links from our structure and invest more in our managers. Due to this fact, our managers can keep a smaller portfolio of Corporations (sometimes up to 50% less than the industry average) without sacrificing on the benefits. And this translates directly into more time, energy, and attention to dealing with the everyday challenges of the Corporations.

Why The Name?
North Star (otherwise known as Polaris) is the brightest star in the constellation Ursula Minor. Because the North Star almost aligns with the earth rotational axis (in the North Pole), it is in a relative fixed position while all the other star appear to rotate around it. This attribute makes it a perfect partner for navigation or astronomy.
At North Star Management we like to draw a comparison with the celestial star to our position in the Condominium Industry. Our ambition is to be the ‘brightest’ company in the industry that provides superior service while translating the complicated Condominium jargon into comprehensive communication (without oversimplifying it). We strive to be the guiding start in the Condominium Industry that would bring real value to our Condominium Partners. To us, enriching communities is more than a slogan. It is a mantra that is supported by our value pillars (raising the property value through strategic management, keeping the common element fees low, providing fast, meaningful and reliable service to Boards, owners, and other stakeholders).
